Navigating the Waters of Post-Transplant Nutrition: How to Help Patients Stay Afloat

When:
Thursday, February 28, 2019
3:00-4:00pm EST/ 12:00pm - 1:00pm PST

Purpose/Goal:

The implementation of good nutrition plays a key role in transplantation. Special considerations must be made when caring for a recipient post-surgery in order to maintain organ function and the patient’s overall health. Unfortunately, post-transplant nutrition has proven to be a struggle for patients and their caregivers. As a result, transplant programs are often faced with the challenge of managing the opposing perspectives of the healthcare team and their patients. Join us as we hear from two knowledgeable transplant dietitians who will share their experiences, strategies, and innovations pertaining to post-transplant nutrition.

At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Identify common post-transplant nutrition issues and potential barriers.

  • Describe strategies that can be used to improve overall post-transplant nutrition
