Purpose/Goal:

Strong and trusting engagement between OPOs and hospital physicians impacts organ donation on many levels. But many OPO professionals feel lost when navigating the multitude of potential tactics to advocate for brain death testing to be conducted in a timely manner. This webinar will delve into strategies that will improve engagement among OPO professionals and hospital physicians, to identify best practices for communicating and advocating for timely brain death declaration.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Develop a communication platform with soft skills and language on how to communicate with physicians who do not want to conduct brain death testing.
  • Support brain death testing outside of donation through effective discussions with physicians.
  • Describe the importance of timely brain death declaration though physician engagement.
