Having a support program for those touched by donation is not only important for donor families, it can also have a positive impact on donation authorization rates, hospital partner relations and public opinion about donation. This webinar examines several aspects of donor family engagement including bereavement assessment, provision of resources and relationship development that result in a robust Aftercare program that is more than just a memory box.

Target Audience:  

Members of the donation and transplantation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation and transplantation center professionals and their colleagues.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Assess donor family grief & bereavement (including active grief, marginalized grief, compounded grief, etc.
  • Describe broad-spectrum, external support resources. 
  • Explain how to build comprehensive internal programs and services.
